Buhle Bem Africa is a brain child of a group of 18 women from Kanyamazane who had one and the same objective in mind; "to create employment for the poor in the black communities."
This objective has led the determined group of women to push their beading skills to a level of excellence and pure art that is so much admired by both the local and international markets.
Buhle Bem Africa is consistently bringing skilled women together in the beading industry for the purpose of helping to fight the enemy of poverty and social injustice faced by most black women.

Our Skills; A Cultural Heritage: Our skills, in creating beaded products, is a talent that has been passed down from our parents generation after generation so as to ensure that this cultural heritage cannot be lost.
It is this careful transition of the beading skill and other cultural skills that has allowed our women to be able to create jobs for themselves and help to take care of thier families.
For these women, it has not been an easy ride. Lots of obstacles and frustrations have been met on the way but somehow our determination and ultimate objectives have helped us get this far.
We all belong to a society of women that wishes to see other black women stand up for themselves and earn a decent living.
Fighting Poverty; Save Our ChildrenBuhle Bem Africa is a partner of SOS Children's Village International, which is a charity organisation committed to taking care of orphans and vulnarable children.
